Enterprise Homes on 1+ Acres
An acre is where Enterprise living actually starts making sense. It is the difference between a house in town and a property: room for the shop, the animals, the garden, and the RV, without a neighbor's window ten feet from yours. This page collects the current listings on an acre or more.
Enterprise is a genuine farm and ranch town of about two thousand people, 41 miles northwest of St. George at around 5,300 feet. The town is named for the settlers' plan to build a water supply where none existed, they built the dam, and the reservoirs and green fields are still the backbone of the place. It has its own schools right in town, a real main street, and the annual Cornfest every August since 1990. Nobody moves to Enterprise by accident, and the people who choose it tend to stay.
Zoning that still respects agriculture
Enterprise runs its own code, and it is written for a town that still farms. The residential agriculture zone sets half acre minimum lots and permits animals and fowl for recreation or family food production outright, with a conditional permit needed only when you go past three large animals per quarter acre. Standard residential lots run from about 9,000 square feet in the R-1 zone down to 6,000 in the small lot zone, so there is a real range between in-town convenience and edge-of-town elbow room. If horses or livestock are the point, the residential agriculture ground is what we hunt for.
Common Questions
What can I actually do with an acre in Enterprise?
More than in any city: a shop, a garden, RV parking, and on appropriately zoned parcels, animals. The zoning that governs Enterprise is what decides the details, and I confirm it parcel by parcel rather than guessing from the listing.
What is the hidden cost of acreage?
Water and maintenance. Wells, septic, irrigation shares where they exist, and simply keeping an acre from going feral all take money and attention. I would rather show you those numbers before you buy than hear about them after.
