New Harmony 5 Plus Bedroom Homes

Five or more bedrooms in a town the size of New Harmony is a short list, and I will be upfront: some months this page will show only a listing or two, or none at all. When they do appear they tend to be the interesting ones, big custom builds, multigenerational setups, or properties with real land under them.

New Harmony is a town of a couple hundred people at 5,300 feet, sitting at the foot of the Kolob Canyons with cliff walls two thousand feet tall practically in the back yard. It is reached from I-15 at Exit 42, with the Kolob Canyons visitor center one exit south, Cedar City about 32 minutes north, and St. George about 45 minutes south. The town was settled in 1862 by families flooded out of Fort Harmony, it incorporated in 1936, and it has guarded its quiet ever since.

Small inventory, serious properties

New Harmony's market is small but not modest: a lot of what sells here is acreage, five acre parcels and larger holdings, custom homes built for the view, and horse properties. Things sit on the market longer than in the cities, which is your negotiating room. If you want land under the Kolob cliffs, patience and a ready pre-approval win here, and I will tell you honestly when a parcel's water situation does not support its price.

Common Questions

Are there really five bedroom homes in New Harmony?

Sometimes, and honestly, sometimes not. In a market this size the five-plus segment can be empty for stretches. When one lists it is usually a custom build or a multigenerational property, and buyers who were waiting move quickly.

Should I build instead of waiting for one to list?

It is a fair question here. Depending on the parcel and jurisdiction, building can genuinely compete with buying at this size, and I will run both paths with you honestly, including the ones where I would not build.
