I will be straight with you: private pools are not common in Pine Valley, and some seasons this page will be thin or empty. Elevation and a short swim season mean most owners here never build one, so when a pool home does list it tends to move on that feature alone.
Pine Valley sits at 6,542 feet in the mountains 45 minutes north of St. George, and by the county tourism office's own measure it averages sixteen degrees cooler than St. George in summer. Around two hundred people live here year round, joined every summer by the cabin families who have been coming up for generations. The 1868 chapel in the middle of town, built by shipbuilder Ebenezer Bryce like an upside-down ship, is the oldest LDS meetinghouse in continuous use anywhere, and the whole valley operates at roughly that pace.
The mountain itself
Pine Valley backs onto the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness, more than fifty thousand acres of it, with the Whipple Trail climbing from the valley to Signal Peak at 10,365 feet. The Forest Service campgrounds up the road fill every summer weekend with St. George families escaping the heat, and the valley floor stays green in a way that shocks first time visitors driving up from the desert. Winter is real: snow typically closes the forest loop road from December into May, and the valley goes quiet.
