It takes its name from Deserts Edge Drive, the road that leads into the whole master plan, and it was one of the first parts of Desert Canyons to be built. That history shows in two ways: the homes are more established, and the neighborhood holds some of the best view lots in the area.
The homes here were built mostly between 2015 and 2020, in a mix of single-level and two-story plans ranging from about 2,400 to 3,500 square feet. There is no HOA, and the lots and homes run a wider range than the newer Desert Canyons neighborhoods, from solid two-story homes in the mid $500,000s up to large custom homes with pools and premium views past $1 million. Recent sales have included full casitas with separate entrances, split floor plans with 10-foot ceilings and 8-foot doors, private pools, a 13-foot swim spa, and one home with its own pickleball court. Parking for the toys is everywhere, with RV garages, boat carports, and RV pads alongside the standard three-car garages. The established two-story homes have sold in the mid $500,000s to mid $600,000s, the single-level view homes with casitas and swim spas reached the $660,000s to $735,000, and a large custom home on an elevated lot with a private pool and pickleball court closed at $1,010,000. The view, the lot size, and the level of finish are what move a home within that range. For the high end, it is worth comparing other St. George luxury homes as well.

Deserts Edge sits right at the entrance to Desert Canyons off Southern Parkway, with direct access to miles of mountain biking and off-road trails. Deserts Edge is served by Desert Canyons Elementary, Sunrise Ridge Intermediate, Desert Hills Middle School, and Desert Hills High School, though a few homes near the boundary may fall into the Crimson Cliffs schools instead.
